Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson just had a complete meltdown on live TV. The liberal Democrat went on MSNBC and couldn’t answer a simple question five times in a row. Joe Scarborough asked him if 5,000 more police officers would make Chicago safer, and Johnson fell apart.
Instead of giving a straight answer, Johnson kept talking about affordable housing and social programs. He acted like houses and counseling stop bullets and gang violence. This is the same failed thinking that has destroyed every Democrat-run city in America.
Scarborough tried to help Johnson by asking the question different ways. The MSNBC host even said he just needed a simple yes or no answer. But Johnson kept dodging like a politician who knows his policies don’t work.
Johnson actually called hiring more police an “antiquated approach” to fighting crime. This is while his own city sees shootings and murders every single day. Only a liberal would think that having fewer cops makes people safer.
The mayor claims Chicago has reduced crime, but anyone with eyes can see the truth. Videos of brazen robberies and carjackings flood social media daily. Hardworking families are afraid to walk their own streets because of this mayor’s anti-police agenda.
Johnson begged for federal help to get guns off the streets but refused federal funding for more officers. This makes no sense unless you understand that liberals hate police more than they care about victims. They would rather see people get hurt than admit cops prevent crime.
Even worse, Johnson pushed back against President Trump’s plan to send National Guard troops to help. He doesn’t want a “military occupation” but he’s fine with criminal occupation of his streets. This shows where his priorities really lie.
This interview exposed everything wrong with Democrat leadership in our cities. While Johnson plays word games on TV, real Americans in Chicago live in fear. It’s time to put public safety first and stop letting these failed politicians experiment with our lives.
