Biden’s America: Life Expectancy Hits 25-Year Low

In 2021, a baby in the US was born with a life expectancy of around 76.4 years, which is the lowest since 1996. A child born in 2019 had a life expectancy of around 78.8 years, which is a drop of about 2.4 years. The CDC attributes the decline in life expectancy to various factors, such as the opioid epidemic and COVID-19.

In 2021, there were around 107,000 fatal drug overdoses, a 16% increase from the previous year. The rise in deaths was attributed to the opioid epidemic and the coronavirus pandemic, which caused people to isolate themselves from support networks and social interaction.

Cancer and heart disease continue to be the two most common causes of death in America.

COVID-19 continues to affect people. It is a part of our lives and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

The death rate from COVID-19 increased to 104.1 deaths per 100,000 individuals in 2021 from 85 in 2020. It is believed that the outbreak's virulence and faster spread caused the death rate to rise.

Although the availability of vaccines has helped decrease the number of COVID-19 cases and deaths in the US, the virus disease is still expected to remain a significant cause of death in 2022. As of Thursday, over 271,000 COVID-19 deaths have been reported in the country. The toll is lower than the figures recorded in 2020 and 2021.

The number of drug overdose deaths in the US is horrifying. From 2020 to 2021, the death rate for fentanyl increased by 22%. Families are being destroyed by this crisis.

A report released by the National Center for Health Statistics indicated that over 107,000 deaths in the US were linked to drug overdoses in 2021. The national death rate, adjusted for age, was over four and a half times higher than in 2001. The report noted that deaths caused by opioids other than methadone, which include drugs like fentanyl, rose 22% from 2020 to 2021. On the other hand, those caused by heroin decreased by about 32%.The report also noted that the number of deaths related to the use of cocaine was 22% higher in 2021 than the previous year.

Despite the decrease in COVID-19 deaths, the CDC noted that life expectancy will not bounce back immediately. The mental health crisis caused by the pandemic continues to affect the country.

Kenneth Kochanek, a statistician at the CDC, stated that even though the number of COVID-19 deaths decreased, it does not signify that life expectancy will immediately bounce back. He noted that the pandemic was not the sole factor that contributed to the higher death rate in 2021.

The alarming increase in drug overdose deaths in the US last year has highlighted the need for more effective mental health resources.

In addition, the number of deaths caused by alcohol poisoning and suicide increased. This shortened the lifespan of Americans.

According to Kochanek, the majority of these deaths are to younger individuals, and these affect the country's overall life expectancy.

I believe that Joe Biden's policies led to the drug crisis. The southern border was controlled by drug gangs due to the lack of proper border regulations. During his first day in office, Biden had already eliminated many of these.

Since then, the number of seizures of illicit drugs has increased. The president is solely responsible for the situation because the drugs are smuggled into the country and destroy communities.

Biden is also partly responsible for the increasing number of mental health issues among Americans. Teachers unions have kept schools closed for long periods of time, which is not something that was ever needed. In cities and counties run by Democrats, local officials have adopted an authoritarian style of government.

Kids are falling behind due to online learning, and parents are not able to work because their jobs have either disappeared or have relocated to work-from-home arrangements. The strain on families was unbearable.

Regardless of whether you blame Biden for these issues, or not, life in the US is significantly worse under his leadership. The country is not moving in the right direction, especially when it comes to foreign policy, national security, and the economy.

Despite the various issues that have been presented to the president, his people still continue to tell him that everything is fine. This is not acceptable, especially since they have no idea what to do when a crisis occurs.

It's amazing how long the president has been in office, considering how he promised to give the grown-ups the authority to make decisions.
