Young Actress Turns Grief Into Hope with Inspiring New Devotional

When tragedy strikes, Americans need faith more than ever. Alena Franklin knows this truth better than most young people her age. The 23-year-old actress and author lost her mother suddenly when she was just starting high school.

Wynter Pitts, a Christian author and ministry leader, died unexpectedly on July 24, 2018. Her daughter was left heartbroken and searching for answers. The family had built their lives around faith, but grief tested everything Alena thought she knew about God.

Instead of turning away from her beliefs, Alena chose to dig deeper into Scripture. She spent years studying who God really is during her darkest moments. Through prayer and Bible study, she found hope that carried her through unimaginable pain.

That journey led Alena to write a powerful new devotional book called “God Is.” The 240-page book offers 60 daily devotions for teenage girls. It teaches young women to find their identity in Christ, not in social media or peer pressure.

Alena discovered that understanding God’s character helps people understand themselves. She learned this lesson while working as a camp counselor with troubled teens. Many girls had no idea who their heavenly Father was or how much He loved them.

You might remember Alena from the hit Christian movie “War Room” in 2015. The film became one of the highest-grossing Christian movies ever made. It showed families the power of prayer during difficult times.

This is exactly what America needs right now. While our culture pushes kids toward confusion about identity and purpose, young Christians like Alena are standing strong. She refuses to let grief destroy her faith or her mission to help other young women.

Alena’s story proves that traditional Christian values still matter in modern America. When families build their foundation on Biblical truth, they can survive any storm. Her book reminds us that knowing God comes first, and everything else falls into place after that.
