A Wisconsin judge was arrested for helping an illegal immigrant escape federal agents. Hannah Dugan allegedly misdirected officers trying to arrest Eduardo Flores Ruiz in her courthouse last week. FBI Director Kash Patel announced the charges, calling it a clear case of obstruction.
Former Deputy Assistant Attorney General John Yoo blasted Dugan’s actions as unconstitutional. He said judges can’t ignore federal immigration laws just because they disagree with them. “State officials have no right to block the enforcement of federal law,” Yoo declared.
Attorney General Pam Bondi praised the arrest, saying “nobody is above the law.” She dismissed claims that the Trump administration is intimidating judges. Bondi argued protecting criminal illegals puts American communities at risk.

Flores Ruiz had entered the U.S. illegally and faced deportation. Federal authorities say Dugan intentionally helped him flee after a court hearing. The FBI found evidence she gave agents false information about his location.
Conservatives say this case proves liberal judges care more about illegal immigrants than citizens. They argue sanctuary policies encourage lawlessness and endanger public safety. “This is why we need strong borders,” one Wisconsin voter told reporters.
The arrest comes as Trump cracks down on cities and states defying immigration enforcement. Over 150 jurisdictions now refuse to cooperate with ICE detainers. Critics say Dugan’s actions show how far some will go to resist federal authority.
