According to Elon Musk, the Twitter code is like a "fractal Rube Goldberg machine." It might have to be rebuilt completely.
On Thursday, Dave Rubin, a Twitter Commentator, shared a thread about his time with the company's team and Elon Musk.
According to Rubin, Musk views the Twitter code as a sort of "fractious Rube Goldberg machine," as the previous administration repeatedly tried to fix it, which resulted in more issues. He likened it to a Jenga tower, with one wrong move, the whole thing collapses.
Despite the team's efforts to fix the issues, they still don't know why things have gotten worse since Elon's acquisition. Some of the biggest accounts have reportedly been severely affected by the algorithm. Despite the team's lack of answers, Rubin noted that they did learn a lot.

The engineers discovered that there are more secret labels in the Twitter accounts that are reportedly causing severe shadowbans. According to Rubin, his account was affected by three of these strikes: recent abuse, misinformation, and recent suspension strikes.
It's not clear what the labels do, but they reportedly suppress recommendations and views. Some tweets are labeled NSFW for "not safe for ads." This causes the algorithm to reject the tweet. According to Rubin, one of the key words that could trigger this issue was "gay."

Musk reportedly thinks that the entire Twitter system is in disarray and that it might have to be torn down and rebuilt from scratch.
On Wednesday, it was reported that Twitter had banned Ali Alexander and Nick Fuentes, who are close associates of Kanye West. They did not violate the Terms of Service.
