Whoopi’s Iran Comparison Slammed as “Privileged Ignorance

Whoopi Goldberg has sparked intense backlash by claiming that life for Black Americans is comparable to living under Iran’s oppressive regime. During a heated segment on “The View,” Goldberg argued that America’s history of racial violence—like lynching and hate crimes—makes it no different than Iran’s brutal theocracy. This outrageous statement has drawn widespread condemnation from conservatives who see it as a dangerous distortion of reality.

Iran executes gay people, crushes dissent with torture, and forces women into subjugation under religious law. Meanwhile, Goldberg enjoys an $8 million salary, national TV platform, and freedoms unimaginable in Tehran. Her own luxurious life as a wealthy Black woman in America completely undermines her false equivalence.

Fox News hosts blasted Goldberg’s comments as “asinine” and “as racist as anything” they’d heard. Iranian-Americans expressed fury that she’d trivialize their homeland’s horrors where women get murdered for not wearing hijabs and protesters face rape or execution. Goldberg’s attempt to equate systemic U.S. racism with Iran’s totalitarian barbarism insults both Iranian victims and American progress.

The hypocrisy is staggering. Goldberg champions LGBTQ rights on air, yet Iran throws gays off buildings. She denounces American oppression while cashing checks from the very system she condemns. This isn’t activism—it’s privileged ignorance masquerading as moral authority.

Such reckless rhetoric fuels division and downplays the suffering under actual dictatorships. Goldberg’s false comparison dishonors dissidents tortured in Iranian prisons and the courageous women fighting that regime. Her comments ignore America’s foundational freedoms that allow her to spew such nonsense without consequence.

Conservatives demand accountability. Goldberg leverages her identity to dodge criticism while slandering a nation that empowers Black women like her to thrive. If America were truly like Iran, she’d be jailed—or worse—for appearing uncovered on TV, not collecting millions to spread lies. Her bosses at ABC enable this victim narrative by refusing to condemn her vile remarks.

This incident exposes a pattern: elite liberals vilifying America while enjoying its unparalleled liberties. Goldberg’s rant isn’t about justice—it’s about profiting from grievance. Real patriots see through this charade and reject the defamation of our nation’s character. Shame on Goldberg for spitting on the country that gave her everything.
