West Virginia Democrat Joe Manchin sent shockwaves through Washington, D.C. when he revealed a deal with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer on the "Inflation Reduction Act"
Who is he trying to please? Not West Virginians. Fox News reported Wednesday that his home state voters donate nothing to his campaign. A mere "1% of campaign donations are from West Virginians.
Individual donors provided $6.1 million to Manchin's campaign between January 2021 and June 30, 2022, according to FEC reports.
$6,000,000. He seems well-supported…
West Virginians gave $65,000, while others gave almost $6 million.
Interesting. The "Inflation Reduction Act," a condensed, less-expensive version of the failed "Build Back Better" plan, incorporates green-energy incentives and tax rises that Manchin stated he wouldn't pass during high inflation.
Manchin has turned his back on his declared beliefs of reducing inflation and not raising taxes during the economic crises.
Schumer-Manchin has clear winners and losers.
The losers: Manufacturers, small businesses, and blue collar workers.
The winners: Democratic lobbyists, IRS agents, and California environmentalist billionaires. pic.twitter.com/zHq6ghB0Jf

By disclosing his compromise with Schumer after a microchip deal passed, Manchin stabbed Mitch McConnell and all Republicans in the back. McConnell believed Manchin that a major reconciliation bill was off the table.
Out-of-staters can't vote in West Virginia elections, but for West Virginians, the "Inflation Reduction Act" could be the senator's farewell song.
