Watters Exposes European Hypocrisy on Greenland Security Move

Jesse Watters reminded viewers this week that these are historic times, and he didn’t mince words when Europeans began lecturing President Donald Trump about America’s interest in Greenland. On his show he tore into the sanctimony coming from capitals that have long relied on U.S. might while suddenly posing as moral referees to block American strategic moves.

Watters’ now-famous quip—“Why won’t they give daddy what he wants?”—wasn’t just snark; it exposed a double standard that too many in the foreign policy establishment ignore. His back-and-forth with co-hosts underscored how unserious European posturing looks when it comes to protecting Western interests in the Arctic.

Across the pond, Danish leaders and Greenland’s officials have predictably bristled, even threatening NATO-level consequences and talk of a pan-European show of force. That response plays right into Watters’ critique: nations who leech American security then pretend outrage when the United States moves to secure vital territory and resources.

Conservatives should applaud, not apologize for, the instinct to secure Greenland. As Watters and other commentators noted, controlling key Arctic positions isn’t about ego—it’s common-sense national security to keep China and other adversaries from establishing footholds that would threaten supply lines and missile trajectories. The left and their European allies can cry “sovereignty” one moment and then beg for American protection the next.

The reaction from some outlets that act shocked at the very idea of American strength is laughable when you remember the long list of pragmatic American purchases and moves that made this country powerful. If the choice is between bowing to international scolds or protecting American families and industry, real patriots know where their loyalty lies—and it isn’t with Brussels bureaucrats.

Jesse Watters did what conservative media should do: call out the hypocrisy, defend American interests, and remind the country that strength, clarity, and decisive action are what keep us safe. Hardworking Americans should reject the pearl-clutching from foreign elites and stand behind leaders who put America first—because in dangerous times, only a confident, sovereign nation can protect its people and its future.
