Washington DC: Random Shooting In City Shown Few Killed In Attack

The suspect in a fatal shooting in Washington state that left three people dead reportedly took his own life. Authorities believe the incident was a random attack.

According to Matt Murray, the police chief of the city of Yakima, officers were dispatched to a report of a robbery after a woman said she gave the suspect her phone. When they arrived, they found the suspect dead.

Jarid Haddock, who is believed to be the suspect in a homicide, reportedly tried to enter a convenience store. According to Murray, the store’s doors were locked.

According to Murray, “the suspect walked into a Circle K and shot two people who were eating at the store. He then shot and killed another person outside the establishment.”

After the incident, the suspect reportedly went to his mom’s house. However, he accidentally shot himself when he locked the car’s keys inside.

The woman who called 911 said that the suspect asked to borrow her phone and confessed that he had killed three people. Murray noted that the suspect told his mother that he was planning on killing himself.

The police chief stated that there was reportedly no interaction between the victims and the suspect before the shooting.

The incident occurred as the country is dealing with the aftermath of two mass shootings that happened in California.

The city of Yakima is located in southern Washington. It is 130 miles from Seattle.
