Waltz Takes Helm at the U.N.: A New Era for American Strength

Americans should be proud that Mike Waltz, a decorated Green Beret and steadfast conservative, now wears the mantle of U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations after his Senate confirmation. He stepped into the global spotlight determined to reclaim American leadership at the U.N. and to stop taxpayer dollars from underwriting vanity projects that do nothing to keep our families safe.

In his first major remarks since taking the post, Waltz didn’t mince words: President Donald Trump, he said plainly, “is the president of peace.” That’s not empty partisan cheerleading — it’s a recognition that strong American diplomacy backed by muscle, leverage, and resolve can stop wars and save lives, something Democrats in Washington always seem to forget.

Waltz has been brutally honest about how American tax dollars have been squandered at the U.N., calling out bloated bureaucracies and woke distractions that have nothing to do with peace and security. Conservatives have long argued that we should fund outcomes — real stability, counterterrorism, and humanitarian relief — not woke conferences and woke staffing priorities that undermine our values.

He has also taken a firm stand on accountability where it matters most, including insisting that agencies which failed to protect innocents or were compromised by extremists cannot simply continue receiving our support. That kind of no-nonsense posture is exactly what the U.N. needs after years of toothless resolutions and theater while real victims suffer.

This administration’s push toward diplomacy that actually seeks an end to bloodshed — whether through back-channel negotiations, hostage returns, or confidence-building measures — proves that peace comes from strength, not moralizing lectures. Waltz has been part of that effort, pointing out that the U.S. will use real leverage and smart diplomacy to pursue ceasefires and accountability, not endless funding with no results.

On the floor of the U.N. and in Security Council briefings, Waltz has made clear America won’t look the other way when terror groups and hostile actors exploit international institutions. He’s demanding the U.N. put pressure where it belongs — on terrorists and bad actors — and stop rewarding hatred with legitimacy, a message millions of patriotic Americans expect their ambassador to deliver.

Patriots should rally behind Ambassador Waltz and President Trump’s commonsense plan: reform the U.N., redirect American dollars to true peace and security, and stop subsidizing softness and spectacle. If Washington won’t hold the global stage for freedom, brave Americans at home must support leaders who will — because liberty, security, and the rule of law are worth fighting for.
