Since the beginning of our nation, the right to own, own, and legally use firearms in the United States has been protected by the Constitution. The Second Amendment to the Constitution was ratified at the same time as the rest of the Constitution, but rules governing topics like abortion weren't written until much later.
Because we, the people, would all too readily become prey to an oppressive and tyrannical government without a way to fight and protect ourselves, our Founding Fathers knew that such a legislation was necessary to ensure that the citizens and future inhabitants of our country remained free.
On the other hand, there have always been those who believe that we do not require such a legislation or that it produces conditions that are needlessly harmful. These people believe either of these things. You know, people who believe that eliminating our right to bear arms will eliminate the risk of mass shootings at schools across the United States.
There is a possibility that there will be fewer shootings in schools. However, the number of stabbings at schools is certain to rise. On the other hand, committing illegal acts probably isn't something that concerns criminals very much, is it? This has already been demonstrated in states with stringent gun control laws.
For instance, the state that contains Chicago is one of the states with the strictest regulations regarding firearms in the entire country. But despite this, it is and has been for many years a location where people often witness and suffer death as a result of shooting. For example, during the holiday weekend surrounding Labor Day, there were over 55 shootings that resulted in at least 11 deaths and many injuries.
The vast majority of those were probably committed by people who did not have the appropriate authorization to carry a weapon, which is another way of saying that they were already breaching the law.
The people on the left of the political spectrum, however, are not going to let this deter them from working toward their goal of further restricting your ability to legally possess firearms.
Even the FBI is working toward denying you the liberties guaranteed to you by the Second Amendment.
Internal FBI documents and emails, it is claimed by Gun Owners of America, or GOA, provide evidence that the FBI has been attempting to coerce people like you into signing away your right to self-defense for a number of years now.
The official title for this document is "NICS Indices Self-Submission Form." The gist of it is that it is a form that enables people to self-report themselves as "a danger" to themselves or to others as a result of one or more "mental-health conditions."
And by doing so, the document implies that they are basically signing off their rights to ever use or even own a gun of any kind, regardless of the type of firearm it is.
It says that if you completion and submission of this form will result in the rejection of my right to purchase, to possess, and to use any firearm, and that you understand this to be the case.
In addition to this, the form compels the individual to acknowledge that they without the mental capacity adequately to contract or govern the aspects of (their) lives.
In essence, submitting the form immediately adds the individual's name to the registry of the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, often known as NICS, which is maintained by the FBI. If you try to buy a firearm or anything else that requires a background check, and they run your name through this system, an alert will be triggered, and you will be denied the right to make such a purchase.
You can probably imagine that very few of us would ever knowingly admit to doing any of these things, regardless of whether we were aware that doing so would violate our rights under the Second Amendment or not. I mean, who really wants to come to terms with the fact that they don't have what it takes to operate a handgun in a safe manner or even to take care of their own lives?
However, since the form was first distributed by the FBI in 2016, the agency has successfully duped at least 15 individuals into signing it. As I was saying, there are not very many people.
In addition, both the form and the practice of using it were "discontinued" as of the month of December 2019.
Nevertheless, the fact that the FBI was deliberately and possibly covertly encouraging people to give up rights that they were born with and ought to die with is a little unsettling.
Now, I understand that the entire concept of it was most likely conceived with the best of intentions, as a way to merely enable individuals who desired to be honest about their perceived mental health issues to report that they do in fact have such issues. Now, having said that, I do not believe that it was ever intended to be used in this manner.
FBI spokesman: The NICS Indices Self-Submission form was created to give a channel for persons to self-report to the NICS Section when individuals felt they were a threat to themselves or others.
Nevertheless, it still violates the Constitution because it takes away a constitutional right, which is illegal on its own.
It has been said by Ken Cuccinelli, who served as attorney general of Virginia in the past, that constitutional rights cannot be denied or relinquished.
You are unable to give up your constitutional rights. They are rights endowed by nature.
Indeed. It would be best if the FBI found out as soon as possible.
