Truth Social will continue to exist. In reality, it will continue to exist at least until September 2023. Trump's social media application was in risk of failing. According to a New York Post article, investors chose to vote for a financial infusion in order to give the struggling social network another shot. The purchase of Truth Social by Digital World Acquisition Corp is expected to be finalized by September of the following year. While DWAC waits for the SEC to approve the deal, the company still needs to raise operating capital. Truth Social will receive $1.25 billion if the SEC concurs.
According to the Post report, the vote was a minor plus for DWAC's worth. After Trump declared his candidacy for president in 2024, shares of the corporation fell from $28 to $22 per share. The stock increased 5.7% on Tuesday to reach $22.73.
Obviously, the Donald has been given permission to return to Twitter, which as the Washington Post noted may provide some challenges for him in the upcoming campaign. His creation is Truth Social. Since Twitter exiled him to the social media Phantom Zone, he owns 90% of the business that has evolved into his voice. And while he has undoubtedly used it, he is delivering his sermon to a red-capped choir that already supports him.
Echo chambers are always beneficial for boosting ego, but they aren't very effective for interacting with individuals outside of your group. And it's likely that few Trump detractors will bother to register for Truth Social. Unless they have some light trolling in mind. Of course, Trump has reassured his supporters that he plans to stay in place.
However, it's completely likely that he won't be able to resist the temptation of Twitter and will end up posting on both. Trump's agreement with Truth Social, however, requires that anything he uploads there stay there alone before moving to another platform.
Thus, as election season approaches, that puts him on the verge of having to make an uncomfortable decision. However, when isn't it approaching? In any case, I predict that you can soon expect a tweet from Donald Trump or someone associated with his campaign.
