Trump’s Team Strips Clearances from Deep State Officials in Bold Shakeup

President Trump’s administration is taking bold steps to hold the “deep state” accountable. Tulsi Gabbard, his Director of National Intelligence, has stripped security clearances from Biden-era officials and prosecutors who targeted Trump. This move fulfills Trump’s promise to clean house in Washington and stop the political weaponization of government.

Gabbard revoked access to classified information for over 50 individuals. Among them are Biden’s former Secretary of State Antony Blinken, ex-national security adviser Jake Sullivan, and prosecutors Letitia James and Alvin Bragg. These officials led legal cases against Trump, which many conservatives view as politically motivated. The order also targets lawyers linked to Trump’s past investigations, including Andrew Weissmann and Mark Zaid.

The 51 intelligence officials who falsely labeled Hunter Biden’s laptop as “Russian disinformation” have also lost their clearances. These officials spread misinformation during the 2020 election, harming public trust. Trump’s team calls this a necessary correction to hold elites accountable for election interference.

Critics claim the move skips due process, but supporters argue it’s about fairness. “Why should those who abused power keep access to secrets?” asked one commentator. Gabbard’s actions follow Trump’s January executive order to purge bureaucrats who meddled in elections. This is part of a broader push to dismantle the “administrative state” Trump says targets conservatives.

Former President Joe Biden has been cut off from the President’s Daily Brief, a tradition halted for Trump in 2021. Conservatives applaud this parity, noting Biden’s team first politicized intelligence access. “No more special treatment for those who broke norms,” said a Trump ally.

The administration also canceled contracts with law firms tied to Trump’s rivals, like Perkins Coie. This firm worked with Hillary Clinton’s campaign and funded the discredited Steele dossier. These steps aim to end what Trump calls the “swamp’s grip” on justice and national security.

Democrats and liberal media call this revenge, but Republicans see it as draining the swamp. “Security clearances aren’t a right—they’re a privilege,” said Gabbard. Her office insists only those who abused their roles are affected. The goal is to restore trust in agencies conservatives believe targeted Trump unfairly.

This crackdown signals Trump’s commitment to uprooting corruption. By sidelining officials who weaponized government, the administration claims it’s safeguarding democracy. For Trump’s base, it’s a long-overdue reckoning for the “elites” they say rigged the system. The fight to reshape Washington continues, with Gabbard leading the charge.
