On Friday, he praised President Trump for the massive drop in crime across Washington DC after federal law enforcement stepped in. Without Trump’s bold action, the nation’s capital would still be a dangerous mess.
DC was a crime-ridden disaster before Trump acted. Murders hit their highest levels in over 20 years in 2023. Violent criminals ruled the streets while law-abiding citizens lived in fear.
President Trump did what weak politicians refused to do. He sent in federal agents to restore order and take back our capital city. Over 1,600 criminals have been arrested and 168 illegal guns seized since the operation began.
The results speak for themselves. Violent crime has plummeted by massive amounts across the district. Even the Democrat mayor had to admit homicides dropped by 50 percent. This is what happens when you actually fight crime instead of making excuses for criminals.
Of course, the liberals are having a meltdown over Trump’s success. They would rather see innocent people suffer than admit Trump was right. White liberals living in safe neighborhoods don’t care about the Black families in Southeast DC who were shooting their way out of grocery stores.
This victory shows what real Americans have been saying all along. When you get tough on crime, crime goes down. When you back the police and lock up the bad guys, good people can live safely.
For years, we watched liberal politicians coddle criminals and defund police. They turned our cities into war zones while preaching about social justice. Their failed policies created the mess that Trump had to clean up.
Senator Cornyn gets it because he sees the big picture. Strong conservative leadership saves lives and protects families. President Trump proved once again that America wins when we put criminals behind bars where they belong.
