Trump Unveils Plan to Dismantle Failing Education Bureaucracy

President Trump has announced a bold plan to shut down the U.S. Department of Education. This move would give power back to state and local leaders instead of letting Washington bureaucrats control schools. The government’s education system has wasted taxpayer money while students keep falling behind other countries.

America spends more money per student than any wealthy nation but scores near the bottom in reading and math. Our kids deserve better than a broken system that pays administrators twice what teachers earn in states like Indiana. The federal education budget keeps growing while test scores collapse.

Establishment politicians and union bosses are panicking. They claim closing the Department of Education would “destroy schools” – but schools existed fine for 200 years before Jimmy Carter created this bloated agency. Washington pencil-pushers don’t know what’s best for local communities.

Leaked audio exposed Education Department staff laughing about wasting tax dollars. One bureaucrat joked about taking paid vacations instead of working. These overpaid officials care more about their salaries than fixing failing schools.

Spending at the Department of Education jumped from $68 billion to $76 billion in ten years. What did taxpayers get? Worse outcomes. The agency’s own reports show U.S. students trail China, Japan, and Europe. Throwing money at Washington isn’t the answer.

Union leader Randi Weingarten attacked the plan, but she sends her own kids to private schools. Hypocritical politicians oppose school choice for regular families while enjoying it themselves. Parents should decide where their children learn.

Left-wing media push emotional stories about laid-off bureaucrats. They don’t mention that 90% of education funding gets swallowed by administration costs instead of reaching classrooms. Cutting waste puts students first.

The Founders never wanted Washington running schools. Trump’s plan respects parents and local control. States can fix education without federal meddling. It’s time to end the failed experiment and return power to the people.
