Trump Shuts Down Reporter, Calls Out ‘Low-IQ’ Congresswoman

President Trump shut down a reporter’s question about Texas Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, bluntly dismissing it as a waste of time and calling Crockett “a very low-IQ person,” even suggesting she take an aptitude test if she wants to debate him. The exchange was captured on video and has since become another example of Trump’s unapologetic, take-no-prisoners style with the press and his critics.

Crockett, a sophomore Democrat from Dallas, has made a name for herself by baiting Republicans and courting the spotlight, including noisy late-night appearances and fiery social posts. She even said she would “absolutely” take an IQ test head-to-head with the president, turning the insult into a media moment that the left gleefully amplifies.

Let’s be honest: America is tired of hollow theatrics from coastal elites posing as moral authorities while demanding censorship for anyone who disagrees. Crockett’s brand of performative outrage—lashing out with crude language and grand historical comparisons—plays well to late-night crowds but does nothing to solve real problems facing working families.

President Trump’s response was not elegant, but it was effective politics. When a politician repeatedly projects themselves as the future of a party yet offers little in the way of policy competence, voters deserve plain talk about that reality rather than contrived outrage from cable news. The American people ought to be grateful that someone in the national spotlight is blunt enough to call out lightweight celebrity lawmakers instead of pretending they’re serious leaders.

The predictable chorus of media sanctimony has rushed in to portray Trump as cruel for his words, but let’s not pretend the press calls out Democratic theatrics with the same fervor. There’s a double standard when outspoken conservatives are demonized for blunt language while progressive firebrands get platformed, profiled, and celebrated for the exact same tactics. Conservatives should call out that hypocrisy every time the mainstream media pretends both sides are treated equally.

In the end this is about strength and clarity of message. The GOP base is hungry for leaders who will speak plainly and defend American values without bowing to performative cancel culture. If Democrats want to run on the likes of Jasmine Crockett, voters should be allowed to judge that choice honestly — and the press should stop shielding them with sanctimonious coverage.
