During a recent exchange with Fox News’ Peter Doocy, former President Donald Trump bluntly responded to reports that Joe Biden wants to reengage in Democratic campaigning and fundraising. When asked about the prospect of Biden getting involved, Trump replied: “I hope so, I hope so” – dismissing the notion as advantageous to his own political prospects.
The comment came amid Trump’s criticism of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, whom he called a “loser” after Walz boasted he could “kick most of their asses” regarding Trump supporters. Trump suggested Walz’s presence on the Democratic ticket in 2024 harmed Kamala Harris’ campaign, quipping: “I think it was so bad that he hurt her…they didn’t have a great group”.
This jab aligns with Trump’s broader strategy of portraying Democratic leadership as ineffective, while his campaign continues fundraising dominance. Recent filings show Trump and the GOP outraised Biden’s team by $56 million in May ($141M vs. $85M), erasing Biden’s earlier cash advantage through surging small-dollar donations and major GOP donor support. Biden’s campaign has countered by emphasizing battleground state infrastructure investments.
