Trump Era Crackdown Crushes Virginia Gangs, Dems Slammed for Softness

President Trump’s administration is cracking down on violent gangs and illegal immigrants, and Virginia leaders say it’s making communities safer. Attorney General Jason Miyares is working closely with federal authorities to target dangerous criminals. He praised the Trump team for sharing resources and intelligence to track down gang members.

Federal partners helped arrest over 300 criminals in Virginia. That included 19 members of the deadly Tren de Aragua gang and 28 MS-13 members. Miyares said this teamwork is a “night and day” change from the Biden years. Local police now get vital support to take violent offenders off the streets.

Some Virginia cities still refuse to help federal immigration agents. Miyares called out liberal leaders for putting politics over safety. He described cases where illegal immigrants charged with rape or drug crimes were let go instead of handed to ICE. These sanctuary policies put Virginians at risk, he warned.

Governor Glenn Youngkin is fighting to end sanctuary cities. His budget plan would cut funding from places that ignore federal immigration laws. Youngkin said protecting families is more important than pleasing activists. He wants every local government to cooperate fully with ICE and other agencies.

MS-13 is one of the most brutal gangs in America. They deal drugs, traffic humans, and extort money from communities. Miyares said the Trump administration’s focus on gangs has led to major busts. A recent operation captured an MS-13 leader overseeing East Coast crimes.

Democrat-run cities like Washington, D.C., have released illegal immigrants back into neighborhoods. Miyares said this soft approach makes it harder to stop repeat offenders. He praised ICE for tracking down criminals who slip through weak local policies.

The attorney general blasted liberal judges who give bail to violent illegal immigrants. One MS-13 member charged with rape walked free until federal agents rearrested him. Miyares said every level of government must work together to keep dangerous people locked up.

Virginia’s leaders agree the border crisis fuels gang violence and drug trafficking. Miyares said Trump’s policies are stopping fentanyl from flooding communities. He believes strong borders and tough enforcement will keep America safe from crime and chaos.
