A terrible tragedy struck Minneapolis yesterday when a gunman opened fire on innocent children at a Catholic school. Robin Westman, 23, shot through church windows during morning Mass at Annunciation Catholic School. Two precious children lost their lives and 17 others were wounded in this senseless attack.
The shooter targeted kids who were simply trying to worship and learn. These were innocent children attending Mass when this monster decided to destroy lives. Westman later took his own life behind the church, but the damage was already done to families who will never be the same.
What makes this even more disturbing is how slow officials have been to tell us what really happened. The FBI says they found videos that Westman made, but they quickly took them down. Why are they hiding the truth from the American people who deserve answers?
FBI Director Kash Patel called this domestic terrorism and a hate crime against Catholics. This was clearly an attack on people of faith, something we see happening more and more across America. Our religious freedoms are under assault and this tragedy proves it.
Westman was once a student at this very school, which makes his actions even more twisted. His own mother worked as a secretary at the parish for years. This person knew these people and still chose to commit this evil act against children and the church community.
The liberals who run Minneapolis seem more interested in politics than protecting kids. They want to control the narrative instead of being honest about what motivated this attack. Parents deserve to know the truth so they can protect their own children.
Our schools and churches should be safe places where families can gather without fear. Instead, we have another case of a disturbed person targeting innocent people while officials play games with information. This is exactly why we need strong leaders who will put safety first.
The families of these victims need our prayers and support during this impossible time. But they also need leaders who will be honest about the threats facing our children and our faith communities. America’s kids deserve better than politicians who care more about spin than truth.
