Texas Flood Tragedy: Cornyn Praises Heroic Rescue Efforts

Heavy rains have brought terrible flooding to Central Texas, killing many and leaving others missing. Senator John Cornyn visited the area and praised the brave rescue efforts. He told Texans to stay strong during this hard time.

The floods hit hardest around the Guadalupe River. Over five inches of rain fell in just hours, making the river rise fast. At least fifty-nine people died, including twenty-one children. Dozens more are still missing.

Many children were at a summer camp when the water rushed in. Rescuers searched day and night for survivors. One little girl floated to safety on a mattress for hours. Her story shows real courage.

Emergency teams saved about 850 people from the floodwaters. They worked nonstop despite more rain coming. These heroes risked their lives to pull folks out of danger.

Senator Cornyn came to Kerrville to see the damage. He thanked the rescue teams for their hard work. Cornyn said they represent the best of Texas spirit.

He reminded everyone that Texans are tough and will rebuild. The senator called this a time for faith and community. His message was clear: we won’t let this break us.

President Trump signed a disaster declaration to send help. This brings needed money and supplies to the area. Leaders are stepping up to support Texas families.

The people here show true American grit. They help neighbors and trust in God. Texas will recover because its people never quit.
