Two teenage thugs have finally been arrested for gunning down an innocent congressional intern in Washington DC. Eric Tarpinian-Jachym was just 21 years old when these criminals cut his life short on June 30th. He was walking near 7th and M streets when a stray bullet struck him down around 10:30 at night.
This young man had everything going for him. He was a college student at the University of Massachusetts and worked as an intern for Congressman Ron Estis. Eric came from Granby, Massachusetts to serve his country in our nation’s capital.
Instead of safety, he found deadly violence on DC streets. US Attorney Jeanine Pirro announced that two 17-year-olds are now charged as adults with first-degree murder. These weren’t kids making mistakes – they were armed killers roaming our streets.
The worst part is there’s still a third suspect on the loose. While families sleep, another dangerous criminal walks free in our capital city. This is what happens when liberal policies let crime run wild in major cities.
Eric was completely innocent – just a bystander caught in senseless violence. Attorney Pirro called his death “a stark reminder of how fragile life is and how violence too often visits us in the nation’s capital.” Those are harsh words that should wake up every American.
This tragedy shows how broken our cities have become under failed leadership. A promising young patriot came to DC to serve and got murdered by teenage criminals. Where is the outrage from the politicians who run this city?
At least law enforcement is doing their job and catching these killers. The two arrested teens will face adult charges, which is exactly what they deserve. When you commit adult crimes, you face adult consequences.
But justice for Eric means catching all three suspects and keeping them locked up for good. His family deserves better than empty promises from politicians who have let DC become a war zone.
