President Trump declared a national emergency in April and slapped tariffs on countries that have been ripping us off for decades. He put a 10 percent tariff on all nations and even higher rates on the worst trade cheaters. The doom and gloom crowd said this would be economic suicide.
But guess what happened instead. The American economy showed its true strength and resilience. While the so-called experts were wringing their hands, hardworking Americans kept our nation moving forward.
Sure, there have been some bumps along the way. GDP growth slowed a bit in the first half of 2025, and the July jobs report showed some weakness. But these are just growing pains as we rebuild our manufacturing base and bring jobs back home.
The tariffs are already working to level the playing field for American workers. We are no longer letting foreign countries dump cheap goods here while blocking our exports. This is what real economic patriotism looks like.
Of course, liberal states like California are throwing tantrums and filing lawsuits. They would rather keep sending our jobs overseas than support American workers. Their complaints about tariff costs just show they care more about cheap foreign goods than good American jobs.
The truth is that decades of bad trade deals hollowed out our manufacturing base. President Trump is fixing what previous administrations broke. We need to rebuild our industrial strength even if it means some short-term adjustments.
The coming months will test our resolve, but America has always been strongest when we stand up for ourselves. These tariffs are not just about trade policy but about protecting our sovereignty and securing our economic future for generations to come.
