According to tax filings that were made public by the New York Post, Sharpton was paid a total of $348,174 by the company from the time he became president and CEO until 2021.

In addition, he was awarded bonuses totaling an additional $278,503 and benefits for a total of $22,117. According to the tax forms, NAN reportedly spent more than one million dollars on limousines and private jets for Sharpton in the year 2021.

"Some of it was me. Some of it was the chairman. Some of it was victims’ families," The New York Post was informed by Sharpton.

Sharpton asserts that a contributor provided funding for each and every flight that was taken on behalf of the charitable organisation.

In 1991, Sharpton founded the non-profit organisation NAN in the Harlem neighbourhood of New York City.

Dominique and Ashley Sharpton, Sharpton's daughters, were paid salary of $78,670 and $59,950, respectively, while they were working by the group. Sharpton himself and two other family members continue to work for the company. Nikki Sharpton, who was employed in the special events industry, was paid a total annual compensation of $15,800.

Through 2021, NAN generated a total revenue of $7.3 million. This was a decline from the $11.1 million that had been collected in 2020 as a direct result of the assassination of George Floyd.
