Hardworking American families are getting hit hard by rising electricity bills across the nation. Power costs have jumped over 6% in just one year, with some states seeing massive spikes that are crushing household budgets. This is happening while Big Tech companies are building massive data centers that suck up enormous amounts of electricity to power their AI systems.
The worst increases are happening in liberal-run states like Maine, where bills shot up over 36%, and Connecticut, where families are paying 18% more than last year. California residents are now paying over 32 cents per kilowatt hour, which is nearly double what Americans pay in many other states. These Democrat-controlled states have been pushing expensive green energy policies for years, and now families are paying the price.
Meanwhile, power-hungry data centers owned by wealthy tech giants are driving up demand and forcing utilities to build expensive new power lines. These companies are making billions from AI while regular Americans get stuck with higher electric bills. The tech elites in Silicon Valley don’t care if your family has to choose between keeping the lights on or putting food on the table.
Energy experts say electricity prices will keep rising faster than inflation through 2026. States that already have high prices, mostly in the Northeast and West Coast, will see the biggest increases. Working families in these areas are being squeezed by policies that benefit the wealthy while hurting regular people.
Some states are doing better by focusing on reliable, affordable energy instead of expensive green mandates. States like Idaho and Wyoming have much lower rates because they use practical energy policies. They prove that Americans don’t have to choose between having electricity and having money left over for their families.
The data center boom is great for Big Tech profits but terrible for American families trying to make ends meet. These companies should pay their fair share instead of passing costs onto hardworking taxpayers. When tech billionaires get richer, why should regular Americans pay more for basic electricity?
Liberal politicians love to talk about helping working families, but their energy policies do the opposite. High electricity costs hurt poor and middle-class families the most because they spend a bigger part of their income on basic needs. Rich people don’t worry about their power bills, but regular Americans do.
American families deserve affordable, reliable electricity that doesn’t break the bank. We need leaders who will stand up to Big Tech and fight for policies that put working Americans first. Until then, families will keep getting crushed by rising costs while the wealthy elites get richer.
