According to Kanye West, he asked Donald Trump to be his running mate for the 2024 presidential election.
After he was banned from Twitter for his anti-Semitic rant, West claimed that he went to Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida to pitch his plan. A source close to Trump confirmed the visit to The Washington Post.
The rapper was at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort for the first time. He said on Twitter that he was surprised by how quickly he was able to get to the facility and that he had to keep the president waiting.
He asked his followers what they thought of Trump's response when he asked him to be his running mate in 2024. He used Twitter's poll feature to add a button with the choices "That's very Ye" or "That's very Nay."
Since becoming a household name, West has met with Trump in various cities, including in Washington, DC, and New York. In October 2018, he dropped an F-bomb in the White House during a lunch with Trump's daughter and adviser, Ivanka Trump.
In December 2016, the two met at Trump Tower in New York. Their supposed meeting at the Florida resort came amid West's bizarre behavior.
In October, West was temporarily suspended from Twitter after he wrote that he wanted to go through with a "death con 3." He later returned to the social media platform and announced that he would be running for president in 2024.
Trump was removed from Twitter last year due to the possibility of more violence following the attacks on the US Capitol. He was reinstated last week. A representative for West did not respond to requests for comment.
