Rep. Taylor Greene Has More Choice Words For Matt Gaetz

In response to fellow Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz’s stance against House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy's bid for speaker, Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Georgia representative, launched an attack on him.

On Tuesday, the House Steering Committee named Greene to the Homeland Security and Oversight and Accountability committees. In 2021, the full House voted to take her off the committees due to her controversial statements, including her confrontation with David Hogg, a survivor of the Parkland school shooting.

In response, Gaetz praised Greene and said she would do "great work" on the various committees she has earned.

After receiving the motion to vacate, which was granted to MTV, Greene noted that she was "weeks behind" in getting the necessary assignments. She said she was looking forward to taking on various committees.

While Greene was McCarthy's most prominent backer, Gaetz voted against the California Republican on every speaker ballot. He did so for individuals such as Byron Donalds, Jim Jordan, and Donald Trump.

In addition to Gaetz, Greene has also clashed with Lauren B. Boebert, a Colorado representative who also voted against McCarthy's speakership. She noted that the former's financial support helped her win the race. In response, she criticized Greene for her appearance at a white supremacist conference and for suggesting that Jews control weather.

According to reports, the two of them got into a heated argument in the Capitol after the vote for speaker.

According to the Daily Beast, Greene criticized Lauren for not supporting McCarthy's candidacy for speaker. She noted that she was fine with spending millions of dollars supporting McCarthy, but she refused to support him.
