Mahmoud Khalil spent over 100 days locked up by the government. He led anti-Israel protests at Columbia University. A judge finally freed him on bail last week.
Khalil was the face of the campus protests against Israel. He organized tent encampments and spoke for the students. Federal agents arrested him back in March.
The government tried to deport him. They said he lied about working for a UN group tied to Hamas. Officials called him a threat to America’s foreign policy.
But the judge didn’t buy it. He ruled Khalil wasn’t dangerous. The protest leader has a wife and child who are U.S. citizens. That helped convince the court.
Now Democrats are rallying behind Khalil. They paint him as some kind of hero. This is shameful support for a man who led hate-filled campus takeovers.
Anthony D’Esposito gets it right. Backing Khalil means rooting for terrorists. These protests spread antisemitism and violence under the guise of activism.
America must deport foreign radicals like Khalil. We can’t let them use our freedoms to attack our allies. Our safety comes before political games.
Real patriots stand with Israel and against Hamas sympathizers. Supporting Khalil insults every law-abiding American. We need leaders who protect our nation, not riot leaders.
