New Canadian PM Mark Carney Goes to War with Trump Over Trade

Canada has a new leader, and he’s not backing down from a fight with America. Mark Carney, a former banker with no experience in elected office, just became prime minister after Justin Trudeau stepped down. Right out of the gate, Carney is picking a fight with President Trump over trade, slamming U.S. tariffs and vowing to hit back harder. This aggressive stance might please liberal elites, but conservatives see it as reckless posturing that could hurt both countries.

Carney compared President Trump to the fictional villain Voldemort from Harry Potter, calling his policies “the greatest crisis of our lifetimes.” That’s a dramatic overreaction to standard trade negotiations. Instead of calming tensions, Carney is doubling down on Trudeau’s failed approach, threatening more tariffs and refusing to work with our closest ally. This isn’t leadership—it’s chest-thumping that risks jobs on both sides of the border.

Trudeau’s resignation came after years of sinking poll numbers and a polarized country. Even he admitted his liberal policies divided Canadians. Now Carney, another radical leftist, is taking over with the same tired playbook. He’s pushing higher taxes, bigger government, and anti-American rhetoric. Conservatives know this agenda will only make things worse for hardworking families.

The trade war started when President Trump rightly called out Canada for unfair practices. Instead of negotiating, Trudeau and now Carney chose to slap tariffs on everyday American goods like peanut butter and motorcycles. These taxes will drive up prices for Canadians already struggling with inflation. But Carney doesn’t care—he’d rather score political points than fix the economy.

Carney’s biggest promise? “Canada will win” against America, like it’s a hockey game. That’s not how allies behave. President Trump wants fair deals that protect U.S. workers, but Carney acts like standing up for America is a personal insult. His “Canada strong” slogan sounds tough, but it’s just empty words from a globalist who spent years working in Europe.

Conservatives warn that Carney’s inexperience is dangerous. He’s never won an election or run a government. Yet he’s dictating trade policy based on far-left ideology. Meanwhile, he’s ignoring real issues like border security and energy independence. Canada needs practical solutions, not more woke grandstanding.

Trudeau’s legacy is a weaker, divided Canada. Now Carney is doubling down on the same radical policies. He’s even attacking conservative lawmakers who support Trump, claiming they “worship” the president. This divisive language proves he’s more interested in partisan fights than uniting the country.

The Liberal Party’s lurch to the left is a gift to conservatives. Ordinary Canadians are tired of soaring costs and endless drama. As Carney pushes higher taxes and anti-Americanism, voters will soon realize that real strength comes from freedom, not government control. The next election can’t come soon enough.
