Musk and Trump Team Up to Slash Government Wasteful Spending

Elon Musk and President Donald Trump are teaming up to slash wasteful government spending. Andy McCarthy, a former federal prosecutor, says their efforts through the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) are bringing accountability back to Washington. McCarthy argues the Constitution gives Trump full authority to clean up the bureaucracy Democrats left behind.

DOGE uncovered shocking examples of taxpayer money being thrown away. FEMA spent $59 million housing illegal immigrants in luxury New York City hotels—against President Trump’s orders. Another discovery? Federal retirements are processed by hand in a Pennsylvania limestone mine using paper files stored in cardboard boxes. The slow elevator in the mine literally decides how many retirees get approved each month.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) admitted it found $20 billion wasted under Biden. Lee Zeldin, Trump’s EPA chief, said Biden officials rushed to spend this money like “tossing gold bars off the Titanic” before Trump took office. DOGE’s audits exposed grants sent to groups pushing radical climate agendas instead of helping Americans.

Pentagon waste is even worse. The Air Force spent $1,300 per coffee cup for military planes—and Boeing overcharged taxpayers by 8,000% for soap dispensers. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth welcomes DOGE’s help cutting bloat, saying the military’s massive budget needs better oversight after years of Democrats ignoring abuse.

USAID wasted billions under Biden on woke projects overseas. Taxpayers funded $20 million for an Iraqi version of “Sesame Street” and millions more for sex changes in Guatemala. Senator Joni Ernst called this spending “dangerous” and praised DOGE for stopping cash from flowing to groups with ties to terrorism.

Democrats are suing to block DOGE’s work, claiming Musk has too much power. But McCarthy shut down these claims, saying Trump has every right to audit the executive branch. “The courts don’t run the government—the president does,” he said. Democrats fear transparency because it exposes their corruption.

Trump signed an order demanding “radical transparency” from agencies to reveal every canceled contract and fired worker. The White House says sunlight is the best way to stop bureaucrats from wasting money on pet projects. Karoline Leavitt, Trump’s press secretary, mocked Democrats for suddenly opposing reforms they once promised voters.

Accountability is finally returning to Washington after years of left-wing mismanagement. Musk and Trump are proving that draining the swamp isn’t just a slogan—it’s a promise kept. While Democrats fight to protect their wasteful schemes, conservatives are ensuring every dollar serves the American people first.
