Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass is handing out cash cards to illegal immigrants, using donor money to fund handouts. This move comes after federal immigration raids made some illegals too scared to go to work. Conservatives are outraged that tax money substitutes are being given to lawbreakers.
The cash cards will hold “a couple hundred dollars” each. They go to illegals who claim they can’t earn money due to ICE operations. Immigrant activist groups like the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles will distribute the cards.
Mayor Bass signed an executive order to block ICE raids she calls “unlawful”. Her order tells city departments to support residents against immigration enforcement. She claims ICE operations are causing chaos and fear in immigrant neighborhoods.
Bass personally confronted federal agents in MacArthur Park. She ordered ICE and Border Patrol agents to leave the area. They withdrew without making arrests despite the park’s known problems with gangs and drugs.
The Trump administration sued Los Angeles over its sanctuary city policy. The lawsuit says the city discriminates against ICE and causes lawlessness. It blames LA’s policies for riots that required National Guard deployment.
Because of the city’s actions, riots and looting broke out across LA. The federal government sent Marines and National Guard troops to restore order. Lawlessness spread while the mayor protected illegals instead of citizens.
Bass prioritizes illegal immigrants over American citizens. Citizens facing hardship get no such cash handouts. This rewards lawbreaking while hardworking Americans struggle without help.
Paying illegal immigrants sends a dangerous message. It encourages more illegal border crossings. Enforcement and security should come before handouts to those who break our laws.
