A liberal federal judge just dealt another blow to President Trump’s efforts to secure our border and enforce immigration law. Judge Sparkle Sooknanan blocked the deportation of 76 Guatemalan children who entered our country illegally. The ruling came just as planes were ready to take off from Texas to return these minors to their home country.
This is exactly the kind of judicial activism that has plagued our immigration system for years. Trump was simply following the law and sending these children back where they belong. Instead of supporting American sovereignty, this judge chose to side with open border advocates who want unlimited immigration.
The timing of this ruling is deeply suspicious and shows clear political bias. The judge rushed to stop the flights at the last minute, forcing children who were already on planes to be removed. This kind of dramatic intervention suggests the court was more interested in making a political statement than following the law.
These children crossed our border illegally and should be returned to Guatemala immediately. We cannot continue to reward illegal immigration by allowing foreign minors to stay in America indefinitely. Every day they remain here costs American taxpayers money that should go to helping our own citizens.
The lawyers fighting this deportation claim these children need special protection because many speak indigenous languages. This is just another excuse to prevent enforcement of our immigration laws. If Guatemala is not safe for these children, that is Guatemala’s problem to solve, not ours.
President Trump ran on a promise to secure our border and end the invasion of illegal immigrants. Every court ruling like this one makes America less safe and encourages more people to break our laws. We elected Trump to stop this madness, not to bow down to activist judges.
Our immigration system is broken because liberal judges keep interfering with basic law enforcement. These same judges would never block the deportation of criminals from other countries. They only seem to care about illegal immigrants when it helps their political agenda.
Americans are tired of watching our laws be ignored while foreign nationals get special treatment. We need judges who will support the rule of law instead of playing politics with our national security. Until that happens, our border crisis will only get worse.
