Leftists Attack Christian Event, Mayor Blames Church Instead

Seattle’s Christian community faced violence and disrespect this weekend as radical leftists attacked a peaceful worship event. Pastor Russell Johnson says Antifa militants hurled water balloons filled with urine at families attending his church’s outreach event, which included free haircuts, groceries, and kids’ activities. Chaos erupted when counter-protesters swarmed the park, leading to clashes and multiple arrests.

Mayor Bruce Harrell quickly blamed the church instead of condemning the attackers, sparking outrage among local conservatives. Johnson called the mayor’s response a “clown show” of lies, pointing out that —not churchgoers—were arrested for violence. The mayor’s refusal to protect religious freedom shows how far leftist leaders have abandoned common sense.

Pastor Johnson is demanding Harrell apologize or resign for spreading false claims about the event. He revealed the city originally approved the event’s location, making the mayor’s later criticism a betrayal. “This isn’t a game,” Johnson said. “We’re not getting run over by radical politics while trying to serve our community.”

Families who attended described a scene of targeted harassment, with radicals screaming obscenities and throwing projectiles. One mom said her children were terrified by protesters dressed in black bloc gear. The church’s attempts to host a family-friendly day were drowned out by what Johnson called “the loudest voices of hate.”

This isn’t the first time Seattle’s leaders have sidelined faith communities. Last year, a local newspaper abruptly canceled church ads for Easter services, claiming they didn’t align with their “values.” Hostility toward Christianity is rising nationwide, with attacks on churches doubling in 2023.

Mayor Harrell has now launched a sham investigation into the event, suggesting the church should’ve held it elsewhere. Johnson called it a political stunt to distract from failed leadership. “They approved the location, then blamed us when their radical base showed up to riot,” he said.

Meanwhile, Antifa groups continue targeting conservatives nationwide, from school board meetings to public rallies. Their tactics—violence, intimidation, and vile attacks—are tolerated by left-wing politicians who silence dissent instead of defending free speech.

The Seattle event proves one thing: Patriots won’t back down. Johnson’s church vows to keep hosting outreach programs, despite threats. “We’ll stand for our kids, our faith, and this country,” he said. “Evil only wins if good people stay silent.”
