Last Christian Town in West Bank Under Siege as History Burns

Taybeh, the last Christian town in the West Bank, is under attack. Israeli settlers burned parts of its ancient church and cemetery. This holy place dates back to the 5th century. Christians there feel abandoned and scared.

The attack happened in broad daylight on July 7. Settlers set fires near St. George Church and a sacred burial ground. This church is one of Christianity’s oldest sites in Palestine. The flames damaged history and faith.

Local priests called it a “serious series of systematic attacks.” They said these acts threaten the town’s existence. The priests begged for protection from world leaders. No one is stopping the violence.

This wasn’t the first attack. Just weeks earlier, settlers set fires at Taybeh’s entrance. That same day, they killed three Palestinians in a nearby village. The violence keeps escalating with no consequences.

Israeli soldiers often watch and do nothing during these attacks. Settlers destroy property and burn homes while troops stand by. This lawlessness puts every Christian family at risk.

Taybeh is special—it’s in the Bible. Jesus stayed here with his disciples. Destroying it erases Christian roots. Our faith’s history is being attacked while the world stays silent.

Christians worldwide face growing persecution. This holy town is now a target. Freedom of worship is under fire. Patriots must stand against this injustice.

America must defend religious freedom everywhere. We cannot ignore attacks on our Christian brothers. Protecting sacred sites is a fight for our values.
