Kari Lake showed Congress a shocking picture. She revealed a nearly empty Voice of America newsroom during work hours. “I didn’t hear any complaints coming from anybody when nobody was showing up for work!” she declared. This proved taxpayer dollars were funding abandoned offices instead of real journalism.
Lake slashed 1,400 jobs at the U.S. Agency for Global Media. That’s 85 percent of the workforce gone since March. She took back $17 million from these government media groups. America shouldn’t pay for empty chairs and biased reporting.
She testified that Voice of America is “rotten to the core.” It wasn’t promoting American values. Instead, it pushed anti-American propaganda. Lake found Chinese communist influence in its Mandarin broadcasts.
Examples of bias were everywhere. VOA refused to call Hamas terrorists. It glamorized communist killer Che Guevara. It aired campaign videos favoring Joe Biden. Worst of all, it broadcast a graphic showing President Trump with a swastika.
Lake’s plan is simple: Scrap the whole failed system. She’ll cut the agency down to just 18 employees. The rest must go. This follows President Trump’s order to shrink wasteful government.
President Trump backs Lake completely. He posted: “Why would a Republican want Democrat ‘mouthpiece’ Voice of America to continue? It’s a TOTAL, LEFTWING DISASTER.” He commanded: “No Republican should vote for its survival. KILL IT!”
Democrats complained about the deep cuts. They don’t care about wasted tax dollars. They want to keep funding this biased operation. But real patriots know better.
Lake’s mission is clear. She’s cleaning house to protect America. Our money should fund truth, not anti-American lies. It’s time to put America first again.
