Jim Jordan Accuses Deep State of Weaponizing Law Against Trump

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan didn’t mince words on The Record with Greta Van Susteren, accusing a cabal of former intelligence and law-enforcement officials of running lawfare against President Donald Trump. Jordan named figures like John Brennan, James Clapper, James Comey and even special counsel Jack Smith as part of a coordinated effort to target a political opponent instead of protecting the American people.

Jordan’s role isn’t mere bluster; as the chairman of the Judiciary Committee he’s using the levers of Congress to pry open the truth and force accountability. He’s pressed for transparency on high-profile investigations and demanded answers — including pushing to release audio and documents that the American people deserve to hear.

Even legal scholars who don’t reflexively cheer for Trump have warned about the danger of weaponized prosecutions, and the question of intent behind Jack Smith’s prosecutions is now under serious scrutiny. Prominent voices have argued that if prosecutors were motivated by politics rather than law, Americans should know whose instructions guided those decisions and why.

This is not some abstract debate for lawyers; it’s a raw, dangerous pattern where government institutions meant to be impartial became political clubs used against one side. Conservatives have watched for years as a narrative was manufactured, amplified by compliant media and enabled by a politicized intelligence community, and now responsible lawmakers are finally demanding a reckoning.

The remedy isn’t revenge — it’s examination. Subpoenas, depositions and public hearings are the tools Congress must use to expose whether the so-called Deep State collaborated with partisan prosecutors to create lasting damage to our Republic. If the rule of law means anything, it means equal justice and transparency, not secret backroom operations designed to destroy political rivals.

Patriots should be furious but principled: furious that our institutions were bent to political ends, and principled in demanding reform so it never happens again. Republicans in Congress have a duty to follow the paper trail, compel testimony, and ensure that intelligence and law enforcement serve the Constitution rather than a partisan agenda.

The stakes couldn’t be higher — either we defend our system of ordered liberty and hold abusers accountable, or we normalize lawfare as the price of politics. Jim Jordan’s fight is a necessary first step toward restoring the rule of law and protecting every American from the weaponization of government.
