Iranian missiles struck an Israeli hospital and civilian areas today. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed strong retaliation against Iran. Missiles hit Soroka Medical Center in southern Israel. Smoke poured from the damaged hospital building. The attack wounded over 70 people at the hospital. Israeli officials had evacuated parts of the hospital beforehand.
Other Iranian missiles struck apartment buildings near Tel Aviv. At least 47 people were injured across Israel. Rescue teams rushed to help the wounded. Civilians ran for shelter during the attacks.
Prime Minister Netanyahu warned Iran would “pay a heavy price.” He called Iran’s leaders “tyrants in Tehran.” Netanyahu said the attacks targeted innocent civilians. His government promised fierce retaliation.
Defense Minister Katz said Israel’s military was ordered to eliminate Iran’s supreme leader. Katz declared Ayatollah Khamenei “should not continue to exist.” This threat came after U.S. officials revealed Trump vetoed an earlier Israeli plan to kill Khamenei.
President Trump now weighs direct U.S. involvement against Iran. He could help Israel destroy Iran’s nuclear program. Trump previously said there were no plans to kill Khamenei “at least for now.” His decision could change the course of the conflict.
Health officials said Iran committed a “war crime” by attacking a hospital. The strike caused extensive damage but Israel’s preparedness prevented greater tragedy. Emergency teams had cleared the targeted hospital floor just before impact.
