Illinois Forces Kids’ Mental Health Checks, Parents Furious

Illinois Democrat Governor JB Pritzker just signed a dangerous new law that puts government bureaucrats between parents and their children. Starting in 2027, every public school student from 3rd to 12th grade must get annual mental health screenings. This makes Illinois the first state to force this kind of government intrusion on families.

Parents across the state are rightfully outraged by this power grab. They see right through Pritzker’s claims that this is about helping kids. Instead, it looks like another way for liberal politicians to control how children think and feel.

The new law gives schools access to screening tools and technology paid for by taxpayers. But who decides what counts as normal behavior for a child. Will kids who love their country or believe in traditional values get labeled as problems.

This screening mandate comes with a new government portal called BEACON that connects families to state-approved mental health services. Parents worry this is just a pipeline to get more children into the government system. Once bureaucrats get involved, families lose control over their own kids.

Conservative parents know their children better than any government worker ever could. They can spot when something is wrong and get help without the state forcing screenings on everyone. This law treats all parents like they are failing their kids.

The timing of this law is suspicious too. Democrats are losing control of schools as more parents fight back against woke policies. Now they want to use mental health as an excuse to dig deeper into family business.

Pritzker claims this will help kids with anxiety and depression. But government programs rarely solve the problems they promise to fix. Instead, they create bigger bureaucracies that waste money and hurt families.

American parents need to stand up against this government overreach before it spreads to other states. Our children belong to us, not to politicians like Pritzker who think they know better than moms and dads.
