Another illegal immigrant has violently attacked an innocent American citizen, and this time it was all caught on camera. Bryan Kobel, a successful biotech CEO, was brutally assaulted by his Uber driver in Charleston, South Carolina back in April. The Russian national responsible for this attack had no legal right to be in our country, yet somehow slipped through every safety system designed to protect us.
The violent attack happened when Kobel tried to bring his service dog into the Uber vehicle. Vadim Nikolaevich Uliumdzhiev, the illegal immigrant driver, refused to allow the dog and became enraged. Security cameras captured the shocking moment when this criminal grabbed Kobel by the throat, headbutted him, and punched him unconscious, sending both the CEO and his dog crashing to the ground.
Kobel suffered a severe concussion, needed seven staples in his head, and required four stitches. This hardworking American entrepreneur was left bleeding on the pavement while the illegal alien drove away like nothing happened. The injuries were so bad that Kobel’s recovery took months, all because our broken system failed to protect him.
Here’s the most outrageous part: this Russian criminal used a completely fake driver’s license to sign up with Uber. Uber requires valid documentation and background checks, but their sloppy screening process let this dangerous individual slip right through. How many other criminals are driving around our streets right now because these tech companies care more about profits than American safety?
The illegal immigrant was eventually arrested and charged with assault and battery. After posting a measly ten thousand dollar bond, immigration officials finally stepped in and detained him for deportation proceedings. This should have happened years ago, but our weak immigration enforcement allowed him to stay here and hurt innocent Americans.
Kobel is now suing Uber for their complete failure to protect passengers. His lawyers are demanding answers about how someone with fraudulent documents could become an Uber driver so easily. This lawsuit needs to succeed because Uber has been putting profits ahead of passenger safety for far too long.
This attack shows exactly what happens when we don’t secure our borders or properly vet who gets to work in America. Hardworking citizens like Kobel shouldn’t have to worry about being attacked by criminals who shouldn’t even be in our country. Our immigration system is broken and Americans are paying the price with their blood.
Uber must be held accountable for this negligent hiring disaster. Every rideshare company needs to do real background checks instead of trusting fake documents. Until we get serious about border security and corporate responsibility, more innocent Americans will suffer at the hands of criminals who have no business being here.
