Three innocent Americans are dead because our broken immigration system failed them. An illegal alien truck driver named Harjinder Singh killed these people when he made an illegal U-turn on a Florida highway. Singh had no business being in America, much less driving a massive commercial truck on our roads.
This tragedy was completely preventable. Singh illegally crossed our southern border back in 2018 and should have been sent home immediately. Instead, he was allowed to stay and even got commercial driving licenses from two different states. The Trump administration tried to deport him in 2020, but liberal policies kept him here.
The most outrageous part is that Singh failed basic English tests and could not even read road signs. He got just 2 out of 12 verbal questions right and could only identify 1 out of 4 highway signs. Yet somehow California still gave this dangerous man a license to drive an 18-wheeler truck. Governor Newsom has blood on his hands.
Singh was driving with his brother, who is also an illegal alien. Both men were in our country illegally when this deadly crash happened on August 12th. The brother was a passenger in the truck and has now been arrested by ICE as well.
This is exactly what happens when states like California put illegal aliens ahead of American citizens. Their reckless sanctuary policies are getting our people killed. How many more innocent Americans have to die before these liberal politicians wake up?
The federal government is now investigating how Singh got his commercial license. Officials are asking tough questions about why California gave driving privileges to someone who could not speak English or read signs. This investigation better lead to real consequences.
Singh has been charged with three counts of vehicular homicide and will face justice. But justice for him cannot bring back the three Americans who died because of our failed immigration system. Their families will never be whole again thanks to policies that protect criminals over citizens.
This tragedy shows why we need strong border security and an end to sanctuary city madness. Every state that hands out licenses to illegal aliens is putting American lives at risk. We must secure our borders and put Americans first before more families are destroyed.
