President Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, is taking a hard line against sanctuary cities, promising to crack down on illegal immigrants who commit crimes. He says ICE agents are already hunting down threats to public safety, even if local leaders won’t help. Homan’s message is clear: cities like Boston and New York are making America less safe by shielding criminals.
Homan blasted Boston’s police commissioner for refusing to cooperate with ICE. He called out officials who release illegal immigrants back into neighborhoods instead of handing them over for deportation. “We’ll sit outside the jail 24/7 if we have to,” Homan said. He vowed to keep Trump’s promise to remove every criminal alien, no matter what liberal politicians do.
Under Biden, nearly 100 illegal immigrants with ties to ISIS were released into the U.S. Homan called this a “national security disaster.” He said Trump’s team is fixing the border mess, with crossings down 94% since January. ICE is now focusing on the “worst of the worst”—child rapists, gang members, and terrorists.
Sanctuary cities like New York are in the crosshairs. Homan slammed leaders who let violent criminals walk free instead of letting ICE arrest them in jail. “Releasing threats back into the public is stupid,” he said. ICE will flood these cities with agents to track down targets, even if it means arresting more illegals along the way.
Homan didn’t hold back criticizing Democrats like New York Governor Hochul, who he accused of putting politics over safety. He supports a new state bill to force local cops to notify ICE about arrested illegals. Hochul fired back, claiming she wants “secure borders” but won’t help separate families. Homan says that’s just empty talk.
The Biden administration let 8 million illegals into the country, including hundreds with terror links. Homan says Trump’s team is reversing this with the “biggest deportation operation” ever. ICE is already arresting criminals daily, and more raids are coming. “If you’re here illegally, we’re coming for you,” Homan warned.
Protesters in Albany shouted “immigrants are welcome here” as Homan spoke. He shot back that visas are a “privilege,” not a right. Those who break laws or back groups like Hamas don’t belong here, he said. ICE won’t tolerate campuses becoming hubs for anti-American activism.
Homan’s tough talk has liberals fuming, but he doesn’t care. “I wake up excited every day because Trump is back,” he said. The goal is simple: protect American families first. With border crossings plummeting and raids ramping up, Homan says the era of open borders is over. Sanctuary cities can either help—or get out of the way.
