Heroic Widow Honors 9/11 Husband by Supporting Search Dogs and Heroes

A true American hero walked onto Newsmax this week to tell her heartbreaking story. Kai Hernandez lost her beloved husband Glenn Thompson when terrorists attacked the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. She appeared on Wake Up America to share how Glenn called her one last time as the towers fell.

This brave widow could have spent her life in grief and anger. Instead, she chose to honor her husband’s memory by helping America stay strong. Kai decided to give back to the heroes who risked everything during those dark days after the attack.

In 2007, Kai created the Glenn Thompson Memorial 9/11 Sponsorship to support search and rescue dogs. She was moved by the brave handlers and their faithful dogs who worked tirelessly at Ground Zero. These four-legged heroes searched through the rubble for survivors and victims while their handlers put their own lives at risk.

Kai’s program gives up to $1,000 to help buy new puppies or dogs for search and rescue work. She partnered with the National Search Dog Alliance to make sure America always has trained teams ready when disaster strikes. This is what real patriots do – they turn their pain into purpose.

While some politicians want us to forget 9/11, real Americans like Kai keep the memory alive. She understands that we must never let our guard down or forget the evil that attacked our homeland. Her husband Glenn died defending American values, and she continues his fight in her own way.

The search dogs and their handlers represent the best of America’s spirit. They rush toward danger when others run away, just like our police, firefighters, and military heroes. Kai saw this courage and knew she had to support these brave Americans who serve without asking for praise.

Twenty-four years later, Kai still grieves for Glenn but refuses to let hatred win. She chose love over anger and service over self-pity. Her story reminds us why America remains the greatest nation on earth – because of people like her who turn tragedy into triumph.

Every American should know Kai’s name and Glenn’s sacrifice. While the mainstream media ignores stories like this, patriotic networks like Newsmax give heroes like Kai the platform they deserve. We must never stop telling these stories or honoring those we lost on that terrible September day.
