The “city within a city” aimed to create a self-governing Islamic enclave enforcing Sharia law – including brutal punishments for women and LGBTQ Americans. Developers planned to ban non-Muslim residents while building a faith-based school indoctrinating children with anti-American values. This isn’t cultural diversity – it’s a hostile takeover attempt using woke zoning laws.
Sharia law directly violates our Constitution’s protections for free speech, religious liberty, and equal rights. Under these medieval rules, women could be beaten for not wearing headscarves, and gay Texans could face execution. Allowing this toxic ideology to take root on U.S. soil would betray every patriot who fought for our freedoms.
“We will not tolerate any community that threatens our way of life,” Governor Abbott declared. His administration found EPIC City developers may have committed fraud and violated land-use laws. The Biden Justice Department reluctantly opened its own investigation after pressure from Texas lawmakers.
Local farmers and ranchers warned about mysterious land purchases by out-of-state groups linked to radical organizations. They rightly fear their peaceful rural community could become a breeding ground for extremism.
