Good Samaritans In Ohio Rush To Help A Police Officer In A Fight

The police chief of Ohio commended the four bystanders who intervened after one of his officers was assaulted by a guy during a traffic check.

The suspect, 64-year-old David Koubeck, was stopped by 30-year-old Officer Stacee Wright for speeding on Lost Nation Road in Willoughby, a suburb of Cleveland.

On September 10, Wright stopped Koubeck for speeding and subsequently pulled him over. Wright can be heard in the dashcam tape advising the suspect that he was travelling 57 mph in a 35 mph zone.

The frightening footage shows Koubeck walking away from his black 2009 Chevrolet Malibu after being asked by Wright for identification. Koubeck claims that he had to reach into the trunk to get his licence. When Wright needs help, he calls the Willoughby PD.

Wright orders Koubeck to the curb, but Koubeck angrily responds, "I'm not sitting!" I'm getting up!

More demands by Wright for the suspect to place his hands behind his back or on the truck were unheeded, and a "physical struggle" developed.

It seems like Koubeck is winning the fight until four strangers come to help Wright and end the ordeal by taking Koubeck down.

"You don't do that to a woman. Do you understand me? "Koubeck gets an angry shout from someone.

After a second police officer arrives to assist Wright in arresting Koubeck, the bystanders depart.

Assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, excessive speeding, and no seatbelt were all charges brought against Koubeck. On September 22, he will get his court date.

Later, Willoughby Police Chief Jim Schultz thanked the four civilians who had helped Wright in a handwritten message.

Schultz said in a Facebook post. "I am so proud of our community and the tremendous support we receive on a day-to-day basis," "Saturday was another awesome example. I greatly appreciate it!! Thank you!"
