Gold’s Gym Fallout: Women Fight Back Against Radical Gender Policies

A viral confrontation at a Gold’s Gym in Los Angeles shows singer Tish Hyman angrily confronting a person she says walked into the women’s locker room, and the fallout has left everyday women furious and bewildered. Hyman says she repeatedly filed complaints about being made to feel unsafe, yet after she blew the whistle inside the gym she says staff revoked her membership while allowing the person she complained about to remain on the premises.

The individual at the center of the incident, identified in coverage as Alexis Black, defended their actions in a TMZ interview and confirmed they are mid-transition and have not completed genital surgery, while saying they are registered as female with the gym. Reporters noted that Black has been kicked out of other gyms previously and that the interview displayed the gulf between biological reality and the new social rules being enforced by corporate policy.

Adding insult to injury for many women, the Beverly Center Gold’s Gym location was recently acquired by EōS Fitness, and patrons say corporate decisions now seem to prioritize compliance with gender identity policy over protecting privacy in single-sex spaces. California’s approach to gender identity in public facilities has left businesses and customers scrambling for sensible, practical answers while activists demand unconditional access.

Hyman and other gym-goers say this was not an isolated incident; she alleges multiple encounters over weeks that left her and other women uncomfortable while staff failed to act, prompting her to call for a boycott and for gyms to create separate accommodations for transgender patrons. The public reaction has been swift, with many women across social media echoing fury that a woman who spoke up about being naked in front of someone she believes to be male was the one punished.

This is the moment conservative Americans have warned about for years: corporate cowardice and radical identity politics trampling ordinary privacy, safety, and common sense. If companies like EōS and other fitness chains think they can muzzle women and shove their customers into silence, they will find that hardworking Americans know how to vote with their wallets and in the voting booth.

Lawmakers and local officials need to step in and restore common-sense protections: require single-sex facilities based on biological sex, mandate private, lockable changing stalls for anyone who wants them, and force gyms to adopt clear policies that prioritize the safety and dignity of women and girls. If corporations will not protect their customers, conservatives should back legal challenges, pressure campaigns, and legislative fixes until common-sense privacy is restored.
