Gerrymandering is tearing America apart and both political parties are to blame. Politicians from both sides are rigging election maps to keep themselves in power while ignoring what voters actually want. This corrupt practice is making our democracy weaker every single day.
The liberal media loves to blame Republicans for gerrymandering but conveniently ignores when Democrats do the exact same thing. Illinois Democrats created one of the worst gerrymandered maps in the country that stretches over 2,300 square miles just to pack in Democratic voters. Where is the outrage from the left about that obvious cheating.
When politicians draw safe districts for themselves they stop caring about regular Americans like you and me. They only worry about winning their party primary instead of solving real problems like high prices and healthcare costs. This forces both parties to become more extreme and less willing to work together.
States like Wisconsin and North Carolina have been fighting in court for years over these rigged maps. The Supreme Court basically gave up and said federal judges cannot stop this political manipulation. Now both parties are in an arms race to cheat harder than the other side.
The results speak for themselves and they are terrible for our country. Voter turnout drops because people know their votes do not really matter in rigged districts. Good candidates refuse to run because they know the game is fixed against them from the start.
Both Democrats and Republicans have turned redistricting into a weapon to destroy their political enemies. States controlled by one party create supermajorities in their legislatures even when statewide elections are close. This is not how democracy is supposed to work in America.
The American people deserve fair elections where every vote counts equally. We need nonpartisan redistricting commissions that draw competitive districts based on population not political party. Politicians should not be allowed to pick their own voters.
Congress must act now to restore fairness to our elections before it is too late. Real conservatives believe in following the Constitution and giving power back to the people. We cannot let corrupt politicians from either party continue rigging the system against hardworking Americans who just want their voices heard.
