Another horrific attack has rocked America as an evil gunman targeted innocent children at a Catholic church in Minneapolis. Two precious kids, just 8 and 10 years old, lost their lives when 23-year-old Robin Westman opened fire through church windows during a back-to-school Mass. Eighteen other people were wounded in this senseless act of violence against our most vulnerable citizens.
This was a direct assault on people of faith trying to worship God in peace. These families were simply attending Mass to celebrate the start of the school year when evil struck their sacred space. The fact that a house of worship was targeted shows how far our society has fallen when criminals have no respect for faith or family.
The shooter, who took their own life after the rampage, used three different firearms that were all purchased legally. This proves once again that the problem is not law-abiding gun owners but the mental health crisis plaguing our nation. No amount of gun control would have stopped this disturbed individual from carrying out this evil plan.
What makes this tragedy even more disturbing is that Robin Westman was born as Robert Westman but legally changed names in 2020 to identify as female. This raises serious questions about the mental health support our young people are receiving. When society tells confused young people that changing their identity will solve their problems, we are failing them completely.
Liberal politicians will no doubt use this tragedy to push their anti-gun agenda instead of addressing the real issues. They refuse to acknowledge that criminals do not follow laws and that good people with guns are often the only thing standing between evil and innocent lives. Their soft-on-crime policies have created a culture where violence is normalized.
Our children deserve better protection than thoughts and prayers from weak politicians. We need real security at our schools and churches, not more useless laws that only hurt law-abiding citizens. Every parent in America is asking how they can keep their kids safe when even church is not a sanctuary anymore.
The brave first responders who rushed to help these victims are true heroes who ran toward danger while others ran away. Medical officials are now asking for blood donations to help save the lives of those still fighting for survival. This shows the best of America responding to the worst of humanity.
This attack on Christian children during worship is exactly what happens when our culture abandons God and embraces moral chaos. We must return to the values that made America great and stop coddling the mentally ill individuals who pose a danger to society. Our prayers are with these families, but prayer alone is not enough to stop the next attack.
