America’s schools are failing our kids, and now we know why. The latest educational fad called equity grading is making everything worse. This dangerous trend is dumbing down our children and destroying the values that made America great.
Equity grading sounds nice, but it’s really just lowering standards for everyone. Schools are now giving kids at least 50 percent credit even when they turn in nothing. They’re not allowed to take points off for late work or bad behavior. Some schools won’t even grade homework anymore.
Steve Forbes is absolutely right to call this disgraceful. These policies teach kids that effort doesn’t matter and deadlines are just suggestions. That’s not how the real world works, and it’s not preparing our children to compete globally. We’re setting them up to fail.
The research proves these equity policies are backfiring big time. Studies show that when grading gets easier, students actually learn less. Grade inflation is out of control, and colleges can’t tell which students are actually ready for higher education. This hurts everyone, especially the kids these policies claim to help.
Teachers are losing control of their own classrooms because administrators are too scared of lawsuits. They can’t hold students accountable or maintain discipline. Good teachers are leaving the profession because they’re not allowed to do their jobs properly.
Parents work hard and pay taxes so their kids can get a real education. Instead, schools are giving out participation trophies and fake grades that don’t mean anything. This is a betrayal of hardworking American families who expect better from their public schools.
We need to stop this madness before it’s too late. Teachers should have the power to grade fairly and maintain classroom discipline. School administrators need to be held personally responsible when their schools fail our children.
It’s time to restore common sense to American education. Our kids deserve real standards, honest grades, and teachers who can actually teach. Anything less is cheating our children out of their future and weakening our great nation.
