DeSantis Declares Florida Tops in Freedom and Prosperity

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis delivered his 2025 State of the State address, declaring Florida the nation’s top state for freedom and prosperity. He vowed to keep fighting federal overreach while pushing conservative policies on education, immigration, and the economy.

DeSantis bragged about Florida’s booming economy, with record-low unemployment and massive budget surpluses. He said Florida’s success comes from low taxes, limited government, and rejecting “woke” policies that hurt businesses. The governor promised more tax cuts to let families keep their hard-earned money.

On education, DeSantis pledged to expand school choice and protect parents’ rights. He slammed “radical ideologies” in schools and promised to keep classrooms focused on basics like math and reading. The governor also highlighted teacher pay raises, saying Florida rewards educators who stick to traditional values.

The governor ripped President Biden’s border policies, calling them a disaster. He vowed to keep busing illegal immigrants to sanctuary cities and suing the feds over lax enforcement. DeSantis said Florida will always put its citizens first by securing its own borders.

Environmental wins got a shoutout, with DeSantis touting Everglades restoration and clean water projects. He said Florida balances conservation with common sense, unlike “climate alarmists” who want to destroy jobs. The governor promised to keep protecting Florida’s natural beauty without hurting farmers or businesses.

Support for police was a big theme, with DeSantis praising Florida’s 50-year crime low. He promised more funding for law enforcement and harsher penalties for rioters. The governor said Florida backs the blue while other states let criminals run wild.

DeSantis took a victory lap over his COVID policies, reminding Floridians they stayed free during the pandemic. He banned mask and vaccine mandates, saying personal health choices shouldn’t cost jobs. The crowd cheered as he slammed “Fauci-style lockdowns” that crushed other states.

Wrapping up, DeSantis told lawmakers to ignore critics and stay the course. “Keep the compass set to true north,” he said, promising even bigger wins for freedom. With Florida leading the way, the governor said America’s comeback starts right here in the Sunshine State.
