Democrat’s Shocking Defense of Illegal Aliens Sparks Outrage on Live TV

America’s patience with political theater is wearing thin, and Sean Hannity did the country a favor by holding Democratic Rep. Shri Thanedar’s feet to the fire on live TV. Hannity didn’t mince words when he read the lawmaker’s voting record aloud and demanded straight answers about why he opposed measures that would have removed criminal illegal aliens from our streets.

Thanedar’s flippant response — that the bills weren’t perfect and he couldn’t “pick and choose” — exposed the smug entitlement of politicians who put ideology over public safety. Conservatives watching were right to feel outraged when a member of Congress admitted voting against mandating deportation for illegal immigrants convicted of sex crimes, then tried to weasel out with excuses.

Worse still, Thanedar has gone from shrugging at votes to actively pushing to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement after the tragic shooting of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis, using that tragedy to call for dismantling the very agency that enforces our laws. His office’s press release makes clear he plans to introduce an Abolish ICE Act — a radical move that would handcuff law enforcement while leaving Americans even more vulnerable.

This isn’t a one-off. Thanedar’s record shows repeated votes against commonsense bills aimed at keeping dangerous illegal aliens off American streets, including prior measures specifically targeting sex offenders and violent criminals who are in the country unlawfully. Voters need to know which side of public safety he stands on: with victims or with open-borders politics.

And let’s not forget the spectacle of silence — many Democrats, including Thanedar, remained seated while President Trump honored families crushed by crimes committed by illegal immigrants, a gutless gesture that offended grieving Americans. That disrespect isn’t policy disagreement; it’s a moral failing that proves Democrats will posture for politics while ordinary citizens pay the price.

Hardworking patriots shouldn’t be fooled by hollow caveats about “imperfect” bills or by theatrical calls to abolish enforcement agencies after a single, tragic incident. The right approach is accountability and reform where needed, not dismantling the institutions that protect us from chaos. If Republicans and independents want safer streets and secure borders, they must hold Democrats like Shri Thanedar accountable at the ballot box.
