But now those same leaders are blocking a bill to keep the government open.
This isn’t about helping people. It’s about hating Trump. A Trump official said Democrats’ “hypocrisy and hatred” have taken over. The House passed a clean funding bill to avoid a shutdown. It supports veterans and military pay raises. But Democrats are throwing a fit because they can’t stand Trump’s success.
Look at the double standards. Bernie Sanders once called shutdowns “serious and dangerous.” Now he’s voting no on the funding bill. Tim Kaine cried about military families suffering during past shutdowns. Now he says “hell no” to keeping the government open. Chuck Schumer warned shutdowns hurt “average Americans” most. Now he’s leading the charge to block funding.
Republicans are standing strong. Senator Tom Cotton blasted Democrats’ “rank hypocrisy.” He said a shutdown would hurt troops, delay nuclear upgrades, and leave families struggling. Food inspections could stop. National parks might close. Democrats don’t care. They’d rather play political games than do their jobs.
The truth is coming out. Democrats admit this is about stopping Trump and Elon Musk. Susan Rice, an Obama insider, said they shouldn’t “roll over” for Trump. Progressive leaders like AOC say funding the government helps Trump’s agenda. Since when do Americans suffer so politicians can score points?
Trump called their bluff. He said if the government shuts down, it’s Democrats’ fault. Republicans united to pass a reasonable bill. Only one Republican voted against it. But Democrats are split. Some are screaming in closed-door meetings. Others post videos bragging about voting no. They’re in chaos.
Military families are stuck in the middle. Troops might not get paid. Veterans’ benefits could freeze. Air traffic controllers would work without checks. Democrats used to call this cruel. Now they’re forcing it. They’d rather see Americans hurt than let Trump win.
